Together with the IT Center's Systems and Operation division the HPC team operates the RWTH Compute Cluster, provides guidance and methodological support, and conducts research on the design of innovative computer architectures.
One section of the RWTH Compute Cluster contributes to JARA-HPC Partition, a project of the Jülich-Aachen Research Alliance (JARA), which aims to provide researchers of Forschungszentrum Jülich and RWTH Aachen with local access to the HPC resources they need for their work in a variety of projects using a broad range of architectures.
With the new high-performance computer Claix ( short for „Cluster Aix-la-Chappelle”) RWTH Aachen University provides HPC services and resources for scientists of all German research institutions.
