The WIFI service provides a university-wide WLAN infrastructure which makes it possible for users to access the wireless network using WIFI-enabled end devices. The wireless networks are made available through access points. Currently this includes eduroam for students, staff, and visitors from institutions using eduroam, as well as MoPS for other visitors to the University.

Generally, the access points are connected to the central wireless LAN infrastructure via a dedicated network within the RWTH networks. Individual solutions, however, are possible. In addition, eduroam makes it possible to access data networks at other institutions participating in eduroam.
