Basic Support for Cooperative Work, short BSCW, is a tool for asynchronous collaboration over the Internet. Texts, presentations and other file formats are stored on a central server accessible via the World Wide Web, so that anyone with an Internet connection, an appropriate browser and the correct access rights can participate in the collaborative work.

The Computer Center of the University of Duisburg-Essen operates a BSCW server that can also be used by other universities in North Rhine-Westphalia within the framework of the NRW Resource Network (Ressourcenverbund NRW). It is available free of charge to members of the institutes and facilities of the RWTH for teaching purposes

How can I use the BSCW server?

If you are an employee of an institute of RWTH Aachen University and want to use the BSCW server, please send an e-mail with your name and the institute to the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University at .

Important: Please do not send your request to the corresponding address in Essen!

You will be informed by email, including user number and password, when the access has been set up. You will receive further information in an e-mail after your workspace has been set up on the server.
