New Graduates in Mineral Resources and Raw Materials Engineering

"You have taken the first step of your academic career – I would like to congratulate you on your achievement,” said Professor Hermann Wotruba, speaker of the Division of  Mineral Resources and Raw Materials Engineering on the occasion of the graduation ceremony for the Division’s Bachelor’s 110 graduates.

 

Wotruba took this opportunity to emphasize the significance of the degree courses in the field of Mineral Resources and Raw Materials Engineering: “Our mineral resources must be treated with care.” Also, he referred to the German government’s mineral resources strategy: “In order to implement this strategy, we need highly-qualified experts in the field.”

At the ceremony, the Division also presented the Heinrich Sobbe Award for the best final theses: Sebastian Mletzko and Johanna Georg received awards for the best Bachelor’s and Master’s theses, respectively. Dr. Johannes Krings was presented with the award for the best doctoral dissertation. The award is funded by the Sobbe foundation, established by Sobbe Zündermanufaktur, Dortmund, which aims to support research in the mining sector.
