Univ.-Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Jan Marienhagen
Dr. Jan Marienhagen has headed the Synthetic Cell Factories teaching and research department at RWTH’s Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences since February 2019. At the same time, he has been a working group leader at the Biotechnology department of the Institute of Bio- and Geosciences, Forschungszentrum Jülich.
He is concerned with the design and construction of tailor-made microorganisms for the biotechnological production of chemicals and natural substances on the basis of renewable raw materials.
Born in1978 in Engelskirchen.
