Your Profile

  • A successfully completed bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and enrollment in a consecutive program
  • Solid knowledge of C++ programming is required
  • Initial experience in software development or game development is highly desirable
  • Enthusiasm for developing virtual reality applications
  • Experience with the Unreal Engine (Blueprints and/or C++) is a plus
  • Knowledge of other game engines, such as Unity, is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and reliably
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Your Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and expansion of Unreal Engine plugins as well as immersive audiovisual VR scenarios for research projects on human attention
  • Collaborate on the creation, maintenance, and further development of complex multimodal virtual environments for studying attention and distractions
  • Assisting with the technical implementation of experiments on attention tracking, distraction identification, and attention recovery
  • Contributing to the design, preparation, execution, and technical support of VR user studies
  • Assisting with the integration of research resources and software components, as well as with the maintenance and further development of the experimental VR infrastructure in collaboration with project partners

What We Offer

The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date and offered for a fixed term of 1 year.
This is a part-time contract position.
The standard weekly hours will be 8 hours.
The salary is based on the RWTH Guidelines for Student and Graduate Assistants.
The position corresponds to a pay grade of 16,80€ per Hour, Starting October 1, 2026 17.60€ per hour.
