Simulate with MATLAB and Simulink

Please note that the course is only offered in German.

Course Description

Since 2007, RWTH Aachen University has had a MATLAB campus license that can be used by all students and university staff. This software enables the solution of many mathematical and technical problems and is also used in many industrial sectors. For example, SIMULINK is used for controller design, simulation of dynamic systems, statistical calculations, image processing, etc.

This introductory course offers the opportunity to get to know SIMULINK and provides an easier introduction to later SIMULINK projects in your studies or professional life.

Learning Outcomes

After completing the course, students will be able to:

  • Implement numerical solution methods for solving complex differential equations in MATLAB.
  • Discuss problems and limitations of the various methods.
  • Find a suitable solution strategy in practice.
  • Perform a Laplace transform by hand.
  • break down physical models into smaller models which can then be described using transfer functions.
  • describe problems in technical language in a meaningful way.
  • discuss problems with students from other departments.
  • work cooperatively in a group.

Time Frame
