Cloud technologies enable the rapid, flexible, and scalable provision of IT resources and applications, thereby supporting RWTH Aachen University’s core processes in research, teaching, and administration. RWTH’s cloud strategy establishes a binding framework for this: needs are to be reliably met without creating a one-sided dependency on individual providers. With Multi Cloud Solutions, the IT Center offers centralized access to selected Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) offerings from various public cloud service providers. At the same time, it supports strategies for switching providers, as well as for secure migration and exit planning.
The scope of services includes, among other things, various infrastructure services such as virtual machines and computing resources, storage solutions such as object storage and databases, virtual networks, as well as AI applications and models. The specific services offered vary depending on the provider.
