Welcome to the Social Media Channels of the IT Center of RWTH Aachen University!

We use our social media channels for open and engaging interactions with our community. We welcome your questions, comments, and insights and encourage constructive and critical dialogue around our posts. It is essential to us that every participant in the discussion can express themselves freely and that the tone is respectful and appreciative. We kindly ask you to follow these guidelines to maintain a positive and friendly environment on these platforms.

Objective Style

We strongly encourage you to write in an objective way, using a polite and respectful tone. There is no place for biased and derogatory comments and provocations.

No Insults, No Hate Speech

Verbal abuse, insults, personal attacks, and threats, as well as incitement to hatred and violence, will not be tolerated and will immediately be removed. If you find hate speech and offensive comments on IT Center's social media channels, please tell us via the message function of the respective channel or by email to .

No Inappropriate Contributions

We will delete contributions that are discriminatory, anti-constitutional, demagogic, illegal, pornographic, extremist, racist, vulgar, disparaging, or otherwise inappropriate without any justification.

No Advertising, No Spam, No Bots

We do not tolerate spam, advertising, commercial content, or other offers from third parties. We will also remove automatically or machine-generated comments (e.g. bots) or block their IP address.

No Off-Topic Discussions

We will not tolerate individuals using our page to hold their own discussions; comments should refer solely to the relevant post.

Contributions in German or English

Most of our social media users understand German or English. To avoid excluding other users from the conversation, you should write all posts and comments in either German or English.

Data Protection

For data protection reasons and to protect your privacy, we delete confidential data, such as addresses, telephone numbers, student ID numbers, etc.

Liability, Copyright and Linking

We accept no responsibility for any liability for comments and links posted by users. All content published on social media is legally protected, in particular by copyright. Illegally posted content will be deleted. In the case of links to external websites, we reserve the right to remove the URL or the entire comment if necessary.

General Standards and German Press Laws

The Golden Rule – treat others as you would like to be treated – applies both online and offline. Please also be mindful of the general community standards and the specific terms of use for each social media channel. Posts that violate German press law will be removed.
