With the changeover to the Microsoft Federal Contract 3.0, the licensing conditions - also on the RWTH Tenant (registration via the RWTH e-mail address) - have changed.
For this reason, the Microsoft accounts of employees on the RWTH Tenant will be deactivated as of 29.04.2024 at 23:59. From this time on, employees will no longer have access to the RWTH Tenant and the Microsoft products obtained via it.
In this context, all data created or stored in the RWTH Tenant, such as in Office, OneDrive, OneNote or SharePoint, has to be downloaded from the account and backed up locally to prevent data loss. Access to the data will no longer be possible once the account has been deactivated.
Corresponding instructions and details can be found on the information page of IT Center Help.
The backup will not be taken over by the IT Center but has to be done by the user on their own.
The Microsoft accounts on the M365 Tenant (login via egal@m365.rwth-aachen.de) and the personal RWTH e-mail address (firstname.surname@rwth-aachen.de) are not affected by the deletion and will not be deleted.
Deleting the accounts in the RWTH Tenant also has no effect on the Microsoft products purchased privately with the RWTH e-mail address.
