Since July 16, 2024, RWTH Aachen University has been offering its own AI-based chatbot, RWTHgpt, which can be used in teaching and administration. The service, which is operated by the IT Center and the Center for Teaching and Learning Services (CLS), has also been available to students since December 2024.
RWTHgpt is based on the same technology as ChatGPT but runs on servers in Europe and does not store chats for further processing. RWTHgpt therefore offers a data protection-friendly alternative. Registration takes place via the RWTH Single Sign-On.
Recently, all persons with the role “Administration roles” and the users of the role “Use RWTHgpt” were informed that this role will be discontinued on February 17, 2025, as the usage authorization will be assigned based on status. This has no effect on the use of RWTHgpt.
