Effective immediately, users can specify in the IdM Selfservice which email address is transmitted to connected services when logging in via RWTH Single Sign-On (SSO). In addition to the contact email address used previously, users can now also choose from other email addresses stored in Identity Management, such as their personal or work RWTH email address.

Previously, the contact email address stored in Identity Management was automatically used as the Single Sign-On email address. With this new feature, this setting can now be managed individually in the IdM Selfservice.

No immediate action is required. If no changes are made, the current configuration will remain in place and all login processes will function as usual.

The desired Single Sign-On email address can be selected at any time in IdM Selfservice under Account Overview in the “Single Sign-On” tab.

You can enter different email addresses for the Single Sign-On (SSO) email address and the contact email address. We recommend using an RWTH email address for SSO, as some services require that you belong to the RWTH domain. In contrast, it makes sense to provide a private email address as your contact email address so that you can still reset your password in the event of an outage of the RWTH mail servers.
