First newsletter of the RASimAs project

The aim of this project is to develop a virtual reality simulator and assistant providing an innovative way for physicians to extensively train on virtual patients and to be assisted by additional patient-specific information during the procedure.

 

RASimAs stands for Regional Anesthesia Simulator and Assistant. The project led by the Institute for Medical Informatics of the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen and started on the 1st of November 2013.

For this project, Europan experts from very diverse fields, from computer science to anesthesiology were gathered. The VR-Group of the RWTH Aachen is also involved. The aim is to bring an innovative tool in the hands of the physicians to perform safer regional anesthesia for patients at reduced cost for the society.
