Record data transfer from CERN to HPC cluster

The Weathermap shows the central RWTH backbone routers and their interconnections. Furthermore, data-intensive systems are visualized. The capacity utilization (load) of the individual systems is numerically (percentage) and graphically represented.
Last week found several transfers of data from the CERN and other research networks to the High Performance Computing department of the IT Center. The available bandwidth for the RWTH Firewall was almost completely bailed used.
On 27th and 28th of April 2016 a total of about 50 terabytes of data were transferred at a rate towards Aachen of about 37 Gbit/s.
