Top position in the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI)

The National Research Data Infrastructure, which is funded by the federal and state governments, accesses and networks the data holdings of science and research in disciplinary consortia.

After two of three bidding rounds, the RWTH Aachen University is in the top group of (co-) applicants in Germany with seven funded consortia, behind Karlsruhe Institute for Technology KIT (eight) and ahead Technical University of Munich TUM (six).

In the top group, the RWTH is also the only speaking institution. RWTH is an applicant to NFDI4Ing, as well as a co-applicant to NFDI4Cat, NFDI4Chem, NFDI4DataScience, NFDI-MatWerk, DAPHNE4NFDI and NFDI4Microbiota.
