RWTH Corporate Design template for LaTeX (Poster)

Description

The workshop series „RWTH template in LaTeX“ shows how the LaTeX templates in RWTH Aachen University’s corporate design can be used efficiently for key communication formats—letters, presentations, and scientific posters. Standardized templates ensure a consistent and recognizable appearance across all documents. At the same time, the LaTeX templates support the principles of Open Science by enabling transparent, reusable, and easily adaptable formatting of scholarly content.
In the individual modules, participants learn how to integrate the provided templates into their own working environment, customize them, and use them for their specific research and communication needs.

Objective

After the workshop, participants will be able to create scientific posters in RWTH corporate design using LaTeX in order to present research projects attractively and consistently at conferences, symposia, and in open formats (e.g., posters in a repository).

• Introduction to the RWTH poster template in LaTeX (layout, columns, grid)

• Structuring a scientific poster (title, authors, institutions, abstract, methods, results, conclusion, contact)

• Adding graphics, diagrams, and QR codes (e.g., linking to publications, datasets, or repositories)

• Practical tips on readability, information density, and visual hierarchy

• Exporting and preparing the print file, and using the poster in the context of Open Science (e.g., publishing in open repositories, linking to research data)

Participation Requirements

Basic knowledge of LaTeX

Beginners should attend the workshop „An Introduction to Using LaTeX for Academic Publishing" first.
