For RWTH mailboxes, an E-Mai-Lifecycle is now back in business that identifies unused mailboxes. This means that automated emails will be sent to those RWTH email address owners who have not been logged into their mailbox for six months. If there is no login even after repeated requests, the affected will first be deactivated and then finally deleted after a certain period of time.

This affects personal mailboxes in the email domain @rwth-aachen.de of former RWTH members. Active students and current employed staff are not affected by this.

The E-Mail-Lifecycle thus ensures that resources are not occupied in vain. In addition, potential attack targets can be avoided through unused accounts.
